ZKTeco terminals, old and new, in one attendance record

Ankastra connects to ZKTeco terminals in two ways: modern firmware pushes each punch over ADMS as it happens, and older models are read over the local network through the SDK. Both land in the same attendance record, with your shift rules applied. Device integration is in the Growth plan, plus GST.

MethodHow it works
ADMS push over HTTPTerminals with current firmware send each punch to Ankastra as it is recorded

Supported ZKTeco models include the SpeedFace V5L, iClock990, ProFace X and ZK8500R.

How the connection is set up

  1. List the fleet by firmware. Our onboarding team checks, model by model, whether your terminals support ADMS push or need the SDK.
  2. Point the ADMS terminals at Ankastra. Enter the server address we give you in each terminal's network or cloud server settings, and punches arrive as they are recorded. Menu names vary by firmware.
  3. Schedule the older terminals. Units without ADMS are read over the local network through the SDK on a schedule, into the same attendance record.
  4. Match device users to employees. ZKTeco user IDs are mapped to the Ankastra roster, contract workers included.
  5. Run both side by side. Compare Ankastra's attendance against your current ZKTeco reports before you switch the old process off.

Our onboarding team does this with you.

Mixed fleets of old and new terminals

Most plants did not buy all their terminals in one go. A new face terminal at the main gate often sits alongside fingerprint units that have been on the wall for years. Ankastra treats them as one fleet: newer terminals push, older ones are read, and HR sees a single attendance record either way.

That also means you can replace terminals one at a time, when it suits you, without changing how attendance or payroll works.

ZKTeco in a worked scenario

The modelled inspection scenario is set in a 480 employee engineering fabrication unit with ZKTeco terminals at the main gate and mobile punch at two satellite workshops. Contract workers punch on the same terminals as everyone else, against a contractor and a gate pass, so the gate record covers all 11 contractors. In that model, answering an inspection takes one working day instead of nine.

After the punch

From there every brand is handled the same way: shift rules, exceptions and the muster roll, contract workers on the same roster, with attendance reconciled against the contractor's bill, and statutory payroll from the same punches in the Pro plan.

Plan and price

Device integration is in the Growth plan: ₹5,999 a month for 50 employees, or ₹5,099 a month billed annually, plus GST. Each employee above 50 adds ₹49 a month.

ZKTeco is a trademark of its owner. Ankastra reads attendance from ZKTeco devices; it is not made, sold or endorsed by ZKTeco.

Questions people ask

Do we need to replace our ZKTeco devices?

No. SpeedFace V5L, iClock990, ProFace X and older ZKTeco terminals stay where they are. Newer firmware pushes over ADMS and older units are read through the SDK.

Which ZKTeco models push, and which are read?

Terminals with ADMS firmware push. Older ones are read through the SDK. Tell us the model and firmware version and we confirm the method before go-live.

Will punches be lost if the internet goes down?

No. ZKTeco terminals buffer punches internally, so anything recorded during an outage is delivered when the connection returns or read on the next pull.
