Attendance and payroll for auto component plants and foundries

Ankastra handles attendance and payroll for auto component makers, foundries and metal shops: continuous shifts, overtime that moves with OEM schedules, contract labour on the shop floor and canteen deductions. Face recognition avoids the failed reads that worn, oily or dusty fingers cause on fingerprint readers.

What is different about an auto components floor

  • Production planned against OEM schedules that change at short notice, so overtime rises and falls week to week
  • Foundry, forging and heat treatment lines that run continuously, with staggered weekly offs
  • A large share of contract labour in machining, fettling and material handling
  • Fingerprint readers that struggle with hands that handle oil, coolant and castings
  • Canteen subsidies and deductions that should follow actual attendance

Overtime is where the money goes

When schedules change at short notice, overtime is approved on the floor and written on paper. Ankastra measures overtime from punches, compares it with the limit you set and raises a breach before payroll, so payroll pays the overtime that was worked and approved rather than the overtime that was written down.

Comp off works the same way: work on a weekly off or a holiday is credited automatically, with an expiry window, instead of being tracked in a supervisor's notebook.

What Ankastra does on the shop floor

  • Face recognition on a tablet at the gate, or your existing terminals, with the captured frame stored against each punch
  • Contract workers on the same roster, with each contractor's bill reconciled against verified attendance
  • Meal counts tied to actual attendance from Growth, so canteen billing and deductions follow who worked
  • A TV dashboard for the floor showing present, absent, late and overtime by department (Growth)
  • Statutory payroll from the same record in Pro, including overtime, arrears and loans

A worked scenario

A modelled scenario for a 220 employee auto components plant works through where the hours go: HR admin falling from 104 hours a month to 16, and payroll close from six days to one. Every assumption is published, so you can replace them with your own.

What it costs

Face recognition attendance, shifts and leave are in every plan, from ₹2,999 a month for 50 employees. Device integration, multi-location roll-ups and canteen and visitor modules are in Growth, from ₹5,999. Statutory payroll is in Pro, from ₹9,999. Annual billing takes 15% off, and GST is charged on top. The pricing calculator works out your headcount.

Questions people ask

Can overtime be flagged before it is paid?

Yes. Overtime is measured from punches and breaches of the limits you set are flagged before payroll, so they can be approved or rejected first.

Do we need new terminals for face recognition?

No. Face recognition runs on a tablet or phone. If you already have ESSL, ZKTeco or Matrix COSEC terminals, they can stay and feed the same record.

Can canteen deductions follow attendance?

Yes. From the Growth plan, meal counts are tied to actual attendance, so the canteen bill and deductions follow who actually worked.
